Proposal Development and Budgeting Course

The ability of development partners to implement their project interventions is dependent on their access to donor funding. Access to these funds requires the submission of proposals for consideration by the potential donors. Project results should be effectively communicated and shared through good reports.

For sustainable and effective implementation of project interventions, organizations must have the capacity to design, write, and deliver high-quality project proposals and reports. This course aims to equip participants with skills in writing and presenting effective and successful proposals.

Budgets are used from the initial stage of the project cycle for planning revenues and expenses and throughout the entire cycle, for monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing changes. In NGOs, a budget is submitted to donors to obtain funding for the projects and to communicate about the performance of a project or the entire organization. This course covers the basics of financial planning in NGOs and explains the budgeting process in simple terms for people with little exposure to accounting and finance. You will learn to create and understand budgets in NGOs and to use budgets as an active management tool. The hands-on approach based on case studies ensures that the developed skills apply to real-life situations.
